BLUE RIBBON MERRIE MELODIES
---- THE ODDITIES GALLERY ----

Here are a couple Blue Ribbon oddities.

The current Cartoon Network "dubbed version" prints of "The Night Watchman" and "Daffy Duck and Egghead" both open with newly recreated Blue Ribbon titles. These were probably done when the "dubbed versions" were prepared in 1995. These are the only two cartoons which carry these recreated title cards. The reason they have them is unclear. But here they are as part of our little Blue Ribbon Oddities Gallery!

Thanks to Patrick McCart for the recreated images.

Note that the WB opening card is taken from a 1940 Blue Ribbon Merrie Melody (some have speculated that it was lifted from "Wacky Wildlife"). This is followed by a recreated Blue Ribbon title. Then, it cuts to the original Blue Ribbon title card from "Daffy Duck and Egghead". Confusing, ain't it?
